Mold Recontamination Prevention
- Eliminate all sources of moisture including roof leaks, plumbing leaks, wet basements, etc.
- Eliminate humidity conditions over 55% including poorly ventilated bathrooms and kitchens, wet/damp basement, wet/damp concrete foundations, etc.
- Rooms or entire buildings prone to high humidity conditions must have the HVAC system checked and/or repaired by a professional. If the HVAC system is working correctly, or it is non-existent, dehumidifiers should be installed to sufficiently keep humidity levels under 55%.
*Without these steps mold will return usually within 3 months although every building is unique.
Refills are available for ‘problem buildings.’
Fogging process
- Close all windows and doors, turn off all fans and vents. Close up the dwelling. Put all food items away.
- Cover all electronics with a clothe sheet, towel, or plastic cover. Fog will not harm fabric. See video.
- Protect your eyes, mouth, and nose with the goggles and N-95 Mask provided. *droplets created by the fogger machine are harmful to breathe and irritating to eyes. (Also provided hazmat suit optional for Those with skin sensitivities) Wear gloves provided. See video.
- Mix 12oz of complex protein solution to 1 gallon of water in fogger machine well. See video.
- Plug fogger machine in using a sufficient length of extension cord to move around the dwelling. Turn on fogger machine. See video.
- In a sweeping motion apply a generous dusting of the solution from the fogger machine. Filling the room with the mist being sure to get the corners, walls, in closets, in basement and attic areas, and close to furniture. *Do not fog around food. Put food items away. See video.
- Leave the premises, allowing the fog to penetrate the dwelling closed up for 8 hours.
8 HOURS LATER
- Once the dwelling has set with the product for 8 hours, put your goggles and N-95 mask back on. Enter the dwelling and open all available doors and windows. Turn on all vents and fans. Allow the property to properly ventilate from the mist. This usually takes 30-60 minutes. The dwelling will have the strong scent of the product, but is safe as long as the mist is not inhaled. *Once the mist has dissipated the product is safe for adults, children, and pets.
- Clean the dwelling as needed and return to normal use. The pleasant, yet strong scent will dissipate over the next couple of weeks.
- Be sure to follow all instructions. Safety is important and due to the DIY nature of this process reasonability of success and risk rests with the operator.
